That the past has been denied relevance in modern systems can best be understood as a method of population control. It constitutes a detachment from nature, from our very identity, so as to facilitate a reintegration into abstract concepts, such as nation, ideal, country, economy.

Modernity might declare a love of nature, as being a part of its advancement towards a pristine, cleansed, idealistically sanitized natural world but in fact it deplores nature, and all this connects to.

Nature represents, for them, a burden they would sooner forget or deny than accept and be forced to deal with.

The dissatisfaction with the world is inherit, but more so there is an underlying self-hatred expressed as this undying, blind love for otherness. This “love”, like their kind of love, is the emotionally driven kind; the kind which goes on a whim, changes when the winds change direction and has the reliability of a child, or a woman.

The past is always “overcome” or engaged in from the comfortable and fearless distances of books, graphs, art, and fences. Anything that gives them that desirable distance of space, making the other this idealized object d’art that is best appreciated from afar but quickly turns ugly as you approach it discovering the techniques of its apparent perfection.

These “renaissance men” tear down the walls because it is remoteness that is their barricade. The more “open” they become to this “otherness” all the more they take a step back, away from it, to enjoy it better.

The modern man visits wilderness in parks or when it’s particular manifestation is chained and caged; he does no different when it comes to history. He indulges his curiosity about the past with the cold aloofness of a man who is not touched by the subject, choosing to learn how the ancients bathed or what languages they used to communicate or how they wiped their bottoms after defecating, but he never really cares about it, as none of it pertains to his modernistic lifestyle and it changes nothing about his already made choices.

A quaint little vacation from his “reality”, which is nothing other than an artificiality he has never been outside of. He loves going places but not really happy about the mosquitoes or the smells or the heat or those pesky locals that try to pull that piece of coinage form his well-crafted portfolio. He loves the meat, but prefers to keep the killing part out of his mind, because it might disturb his enjoyment of the meal.

The “real” is flipped on its head.

The fabrication becomes the “natural”, forgotten for a long time when man tumbled into barbarity; the counterfeit becomes the “authentic”, where nobody can quite remember what the original looked like; the shark swimming behind the glass wall is now “inside” whereas he, the sophisticated man, is residing and walking about “outside” the enclosure, free to return to his own little fishbowl any times he chooses to.

Guenon on Modernity

Although I've only but began to investigate Guenon and I've already come up against some very basic matters to disagree with him about - I suspect a shift in metaphysical perspective, a delving into Heraclitus and Hellenism, forcing a redefinition of certain terms would suffice to do away with these conflicts - , I, nevertheless, offer this little excerpt which was fabulously lucid.

"Under such conditions, industry is no longer merely application of science, an application from which science should, in itself, remain completely independent; it has become the reason for, and justification of, science to such an extent that here too the normal relations between things have been reversed. What the modern world has striven after with all its strength, even when it has claimed in its own way to pursue science, is really nothing other than the development of industry and machinery; and in thus seeking to dominate matter and bend it to their service, men have only succeeded, as we said at the beginning of this book, in becoming its slaves. Not only have they limited their intellectual ambition – if such a term can still be used in the present state of things – to inventing and constructing machines, but they have ended by becoming in fact machines themselves. Indeed, it is not only scholars but also technicians and even workers who have to undergo the specialization that certain sociologists praise so highly under the name of “division of labor”; and for the “workers”, it makes intelligent work quite impossible. Very different from the craftsmen of former times, they have become mere slaves of machines with which they may be said to form part of a single body. Anyone who wants further evidence of this truth can find it in the tremendous importance that economic factors take on nowadays, both in the lives of peoples and of individuals: industry, commerce, finance – these seem to be the only things that count; and this is in agreement with the fact already mentioned that the only social distinction that has survived is the one based on material wealth. Politics seem to be altogether controlled by finance, and trade competition seems to be the dominant influence in determining the relations between peoples; it may be that this is only so in appearance, and that these factors are really not so much causes as means of action, but the choice of such means is a clear sign of the character of the period to which they are suited. Moreover, our contemporaries are convinced that it is almost exclusively economic conditions that dictate historical events, and they even imagine that it has always been so; a theory has even been invented according to which everything is to be explained by economic factors alone, and has been named, significantly, “historical materialism”. Here also may be seen the effect of one of those suggestions to which we referred to above, suggestions whose power is all the greater in that they correspond to the tendencies of the general mentality; and the result of this suggestion is that economic factors have really come to decide almost everything that occurs in the social sphere. It is true that the masses have always been led in one manner or another, and it could be said that their part in history consists primarily in allowing themselves to be led, since they represent a merely passive element, a “matter” in the Aristotelian sense of the word.

But, in order to lead them today, it is sufficient to dispose of a purely material means, this time in the ordinary sense of the word, and this shows clearly to what depths our age has sunk. For my beloved cousin...

Let’s add “baggage” to the list of words in our modern lexicon; right beneath “projecting”.

It is another one of those terms that is meant to replace thinking, offering a shorthand dismissive insinuation with no content – all implication with no substance; one meant to avoid direct insult, everything being insinuated implied without ever having to be stated outright.

In the case of “projecting” we can safely say that we are all guilty of it, because we all use ourselves as a starting point to extrapolate and define the behavior of an alien being. In this case the quality of self-awareness, self-consciousness, and the amount of emotional content, wishful thinking, as well as the vividness of the imagination determines the quality of the projection. The more reluctant or unable the mind is to separate its evaluations of self from its fears, and the antidote to it, that of hope, all the more subjective these projections will be; in the extreme case turning into unfounded, simplistic, accusations which have the unique character of being expressions of self-assessments which cannot be admitted as self-criticism.

A preemptive attack used as a defensive tactic.

In the case of “baggage” we can say that it denotes nothing more than precedent, experience, and history. The longer a man lives the more stuff he acquires, needing “baggage” to put it all into convenient boxes.

Of course in this case one must lighten the load either by throwing away useless mementoes of travel, making part of the luggage unnecessary, or one must find generalities and simplifications to wither down the bulk of weight he is carrying to a few simple multitasking trinkets.

But throwing ay things is not the same as throwing away experiences. In the latter one is made naïve and ignorant every time he attempts to throw a past memory away, forgetting it ever happened.

Containers can either make your trek more efficient or they may slow you down and tire you out…but in all cases we all must have stuff and containers to put them in (categories) if we are to go anywhere.

Just as in the case with projections the quality of the luggage is not always the same, nor are the contents similarly useful. How one packs his bag and what he requires to go on a trip differs from man to man.

Taking along a fur coat for a trip in the tropics is an extravagance only a few can muster. A delicate display within a wrong context; an unnecessary hyperbole.

But going only with a pair of shorts into the Arctic Circle is a recipe for disaster.

When a man approaches a horse which has kicked him in the past he approaches it with care; the past informs his present or is projected as a possible future…he carries with him the baggages of an earlier encounter.

To ignore this would be foolish.

You might call it fear. Fear is a necessary survival tool.

The modern man is urged to cleanse himself of all his past; he is to be made a newborn infant who with every encounter, even of the same thing, he is rediscovering the world all over again…or so it goes in theory. He must be made innocent, with no baggage, projecting his innocence fearlessly and carelessly.

Everything is new…nothing of the past remains or must be admitted into the picture. He has no accountability in relation to his previous activities because with every passing moment he is progressing, morphing, being cleansed from his past, reborn as a new man.

He will denounce anyone who remembers his previous reincarnations as they only serve to limit his traveling….he is forgetful, and although he carries baggages of his own he will accuse others of having too much luggage in regards to him.

His every action must be taken as a new action, with no instructions from any past. When he reads history he approaches the subject matter as if he were approaching a lion in a zoo: from the safety of distance and knowing that he need not be concerned with this natural phenomenon, as it does not affect his existence in the here and now.

Once the Hellenic world turned into a Roman Empire, and it was later infected with an eastern “bug” two great autoimmunizing pushes were made to return to its past virility: the first by the French, under Napoleon, and the second by the Germans, under Hitler. Currently a third push has been undertaken by both in unison under a core a Franco-Germanic alliance.

The same forces oppose it now as they did then.

From the looks of things in all three attempts an overreaching ambition has overextended them to the point of breaking.

At this point the two allies might be regrouping so as to begin anew with none of the “dead weight” who still seem to be buried in Judeo-Christian ethology, banking interests and Asiatic demeanors.

Peeking through the Crisis

The face of Globalization is not looking as wise and benevolent as it once did when we could still imagine it wearing a peaceful countenance, full of smiling crevices and a wise knowing gaze.

Sometimes violence is done with a tender touch; sometimes it offers itself on a silver platter, justifying its necessity with arguments it has already made possible with its earlier effects.

The old idea of a United World of open borders and “free markets” is showing its ugly face.

I know that history teaches us, and what it teaches us is that ideologies oftentimes choose to come bearing gifts of hope and love when they are proposing self-hatred and world-denouncing nihilism.

If we only take Christianity as an example we can see how the idea of “eternal life” and “universal love” is used to sell the desperate on the idea of surrender and docility.

Take the concept of “individuality” as it has been marketed in the Capitalistic west for decades. A concept sold to the individual who is then rendered helpless and isolated with it; forced to seek fulfillment in material symbols that the very same marketers offer it as a solution to a problem they’ve created.

Modern Greek Comico-Tragedy

The events in current Greece reminds me of that old story about the Trajan War and how the ancient Greeks tricked the Trojans, only this time the ones they sold a dream to had already chained the doors shut behind them and those Greeks coming out of the idol’s belly turned against each other, when the looting and pillaging had ended only to rape and pillage one another.

To such a lost people I only wish to let history reclaim them into her bosom; let them hope that there, in the belly of the steed, they find their ancient artifacts and ideals and ideas…if not let them become another piece of horse-shit fertilizing the peaks and valleys of human history.

I, personally, have stopped feeling ashamed and embarrassed about them. I’m more than they were because I, at least, know from where I come and what ancestors deserve my homage.

Greek Referendum

Concerning the recent events in Greece and Mr. Papandreou’s decision to conduct a referendum concerning the recent European Union decisions as to how to deal with the Greek economic issues:

I consider this act, by Mr. Papandreou, a brilliant one; a noble and rational one

I cannot say if it was motivated by emotion or reason but I can only judge it from tis incurring possibilities.

From the news we see the Greek people protesting, sometimes violently, against the decisions rendered; scapegoating the very government they put in power; trying to absolve themselves of decades of uncontrolled decadence and stupidity.

Mr. Papandreou, having had enough of all of this, presumably, states with this decision:

“Are you dissatisfied and angry? Then you take responsibility for all that will follow, if you are contrary to the measures required to deal with it.”

The very people who abused the system are now, rightly, to be held accountable for this abuse instead of being offered another target to absolve themselves against and blame, like the Devil is for the Christian, for their own failings.

Decades of sheltering has made these Judeo-Christians, who call themselves in all irony Greek, soft. They’ve acquired a taste for demagoguery and running away from responsibiltiy.

Perhaps the nature of democracy, in theory at least, has escaped the awareness of these fools, who are Greek in name only.

Who, after all, tolerated and voted for the ones that abused the system and provided means these masses could not afford?

Ignorance is not an alibi except for those that are looking for easy ways around integrity. If anything, ignorance is a shameful admittance of one’s own stupidity and naiveté.

Who lived for decades beyond their means without once asking how this was possible when considering the lifestyles of the Germans or the Americans or others all around the world?

Papandreou with one decision puts them on the hot-seat.

“If you are angry with your situation” he asks “then with whom are you really angry at?”

Years of abuse where entire villages and islands received disability pensions, where those raised to power were incompetent and only had the right connections, where doctors abused their patients taking advantage of their need, and the system’s incompetence to gain vast amounts of wealth that came out of the pockets of the very ones who now cry out; where everyone became a boss and nobody was a worker.

Who, the fuck, was supposed to pay for all of this?

The French?

The Germans?

Who?

Who are these imbeciles protesting against?

Those that will bail them out, taking advantage of their weakness and their stupidity?

Who?

Those they voted for for decades and accepted as their leaders?

Who are these spoiled degenerate fucks protesting against?

Are they protesting against themselves?

Papandreou, being a child of a mixed marriage, is the only person who could have put them in this uncomfortable position of facing themselves in the mirror.

If they wish to go out in the streets and pillage and burn and strike for weeks on-end then they should be honest about why they do it.

If they are to blame others for their own problems then they should face their own culpability, and remaining silent is not an excuse.

Who are these imbeciles trying to fool?

Themselves, presumably, because nobody else is buying into that crap. At least not anyone with a brain void of emotional speculation.

For decades I’ve personally witnessed these morons enjoying the “high life”, with few taxes, lying on the beach, bragging about how Greece was poor but the Greeks were rich.

I didn’t understand how this was possible until I lived there for a decade. Then I opted out, seeing that it was a road to nowhere and a place I could not function in.

Who are they complaining to now?

Those who enter the scene to milk the cow and take advantage of their stupidity?

Is this not to be expected?

Are they blaming the very products of their soiled system; the outcrops of their superficiality and sheltering and addiction to materialism?

The Germans sold them Mercedes Benz and they bought them to impress their neighbors for years, despite living in hovels and being paid huge amounts for doing nothing at all and producing nothing but hot air and vulgarity.

Is the sun and the pristine beaches a product of their creativity? Even the tourism industry was almost obliterated by their attitude.

The only things they can brag about are things they have no part in. Is the sun of their doing; is the absence of industrialization, resulting on clean waters and beaches, a product of their thinking; is the quality of olive oil a result of their creativity?

Now they, these villainous Germans, return to buy them out, to save them by taking all that they want, and they bitch and cry and rant about it, like fuckin’ children.

Best thing that ever happened to that place is this looming bankruptcy. The possibility for improvement only comes through suffering and pain.

Do, or Die.

I, for one, will not mourn the demise of a people who forgot about their ancestry and who still associate their heritage with that of Jewish spirituality.

Let them die, or be absorbed in some great European Super State for all I care. They are already brain-dead and absorbed by a Judeo-Christian, materialistic, capitalistic, spirit anyhow.

When the brain is dead what does it matter if the body still lives?

Only thing left to see is if Papandreou will buckle under the pressures, now that the rest of Europe has taken responsibility, or if he will force the Greeks, the so called Greeks, to accept the repercussions of their own participation in this.

A modern disconnect, a sense of disillusionment, a disrespect for all and everything, including of one’s own self, a loss of dignity, a decline towards feminine earthiness, with promiscuity and animalistic instincts unleashed upon the world, all revealed.

A shallow and empty spirituality finding enlightenment in self-hating depravity and superficial idolatry.

The deterioration of the masculine spirit is accompanied with the slow extinction of the pater, the father figure, the connector to one’s entire family legacy and to the spiritual realm which seeks to break free from its earthly bonds.

The masculine spirit strives to rise above, to overcome, to fly upwards towards a projected divinity, an ideal, and its loss constitutes a decline towards the soil, the instinctive the hedonistic, emotional, irrational, and materialistic, the feminine.

Have not some females belonging to the extremes, those more masculine types or those of such profound femininity that the loss is experienced as a feeling of abandonment, have begun to sense the absence.

They cannot fully rationalize it, for they are still stuck in modernistic ploys and pretenses, but they sense it on a visceral level.

As usual they try to explain it by finding the easiest path, the path of least resistance, and they put the blame on the very males they’ve rejected for not living up to their expectations and their modernistic New Age ideals. They defend the very principles that emasculate males and then complain about the absence of any “real” ones.

Where are all the fathers?

Where are all the men who were representatives of their family and their entire bloodline; those who accepted accountability for the entirety?

Emasculated; forced to take over the roles women wish to escape because they’ve been made to feel ashamed of them.

Know Thyself…but how can you know yourself when you’ve cut yourself off from the very ones who can connect you to who and what you are?

What is this New Age self you play at?

A modern man, a metrosexual, cooing and teasing and flexing; a modern woman, a hypermasculine female, wearing the uniforms to pretend she is what she can never be.

Who are you if not your entire past?

What are you instead now that you have detached yourself from it?

Your job?

Are you your belongings and your properties?

Is that all you are, modern man? Are you that simple?

What is this “self” who search for in nothingness, in emptiness, in projected absolutes or in future possibilities?

When you’ve lost that masculine upward thrust, towards flight, you settle upon a blind and deaf mother earth and all you can see is determined by your miniscule height.

Middle-World

When Richard Dawkin speaks of a “middle-world” he speaks of the outer edges of human experiences, one tending towards the ultraviolet and the other towards the infrared, in regards to visual sensation.

Man is conscious of a small part of existence and he posits the edges of his lucidity as polar opposites within which he occupies the middle ground.

This also applies to moral matters, as the physical is no more than an extension of the metaphysical, and so bad and good or positive and negative become his extreme reference points in between which he tries to find himself, in a balance.

The notion of a transcendence of a beyond comes from this conceptual limitation. It expresses, in effect, a real situation where man is contained, as it were, within the ambiguous and flexible boundaries of his own sensual awareness.

When men speak of an awakening or of genius or of living “outside their space time limitations”, being supernatural or suprahistorical, they speak of the condition of extending one’s perceptual boundaries beyond the average man’s limits, encompassing more of reality in the process.

The spiritual man is the one who intuitively grasps what lies beyond these human limitations interpreting them as visions or as mystical domains which only he has access to. As always the mind concludes that this new extent of his awareness, whether it conscious or intuitively perceived, is the complete picture, declaring it the whole picture.

A scientist cannot resist calling the theoretical boson the “God particle” with it ends his ability to perceive interactivity. The boson’s surface, so to speak, ambiguous as it might be and as elusive as it is, represents the final end, the outer edge of his perceptual-event-horizon. He assumes that nothing lies beyond it, as it is the “fabric of the universe” and his mind and his senses, aided by technological enhancement, cannot go further.

Every age found its ends and beginnings exactly where their human capacities to perceive ended and began. For this reason the middle-world has been stretching outwardly, but its center remains fixed, s its center is always the perceiving mind itself.

Crowds

The history of the crimes committed by crowds illustrates what precedes.
Le Bon says:

"The murder of M. de Launay, the governor of the Bastille, may be cited as a typical example. After the taking of the fortress the governor, surrounded by a very excited crowd, was dealt blows from every direction. It was proposed to hang him, to cut off his head, to tie him to a horse's tail. While struggling, he accidently kicked one of those present. Some one proposed, and his suggestion was at once received with acclamation by the crowd, that the individual who had been kicked should cut the governor's throat.

'The individual in question, a cook out of work, whose chief reason for being at the Bastille was idle curiosity as to what was going on, esteems, that since such is the general opinion, the action is patriotic and even believes he deserves a medal for having destroyed a monster. With a sword that is lent him he strikes the bared neck, but the weapon being somewhat blunt and not cutting, he takes from his pocket a small black-handled knife and (in his capacity of cook he would be experienced in cutting up meat) successfully effects the operation.'"

Can we, perhaps, witness these same factors at play in the execution of Gaddafi?

"Note: Committees under whatever name, clubs, syndicates, &c., constitute perhaps the most redoubtable danger resulting from the power of crowds. They represent in reality the most impersonal and, in consequence, the most oppressive form of tyranny. The leaders who direct the committees being supposed to speak and act in the name of a collectivity, are freed from all responsibility, and are in a position to do just as they choose. Barras has declared that they decimated the convention, picking off its members at their pleasure. So long as he was able to speak in their name, Robespierre wielded absolute power. A severer despotism cannot be imagined."

Le Bon goes on to comment about electoral crowds:

"Such is the psychology of electoral crowds. It is identical with that of other crowds: neither better nor worse.

In consequence I draw no conclusion against universal suffrage from what precedes. Had I to settle its fate, I should preserve it as it is for practical reasons, which are to be deduced in point of fact from our investigation of the psychology of crowds. On this account I shall proceed to set them forth.

No doubt the weak side of universal suffrage is too obvious to be overlooked. It cannot be gainsaid that civilisation has been the work of a small minority of superior intelligences constituting the culminating point of a pyramid, whose stages, widening in proportion to the decrease of mental power, represent the masses of a nation. The greatness of a civilisation cannot assuredly depend upon the votes given by inferior elements boasting solely numerical strength. Doubtless, too, the votes recorded by crowds are often very dangerous. They have already cost us several invasions, and in view of the triumph of socialism, for which they are preparing the way, it is probable that the vagaries of popular sovereignty will cost us still more dearly. Excellent, however, as these objections are in theory, in practice they lose all force, as will be admitted if the invincible strength be remembered of ideas transformed into dogmas. It is as unattackable in consequence as in the past were our religious ideas. Imagine a modern freethinker miraculously transported into the midst of the Middle Ages. Do you suppose that, after having ascertained the sovereign power of the religious ideas that were then in force, he would have been tempted to attack them? Having fallen into the hands of a judge disposed to send him to the stake, under the imputation of having concluded a pact with the devil, or of having been present at the witches sabbath, would it have occurred to him to call in question the existence of the devil or of the sabbath? It were as wise to oppose cyclones with discussion as the beliefs of crowds. The dogma of universal suffrage possesses to-day the power the Christian dogmas formerly possessed. It is most often the case that when a book is made into a movie it loses some of its complexity and the nuances that make it interesting, and this has been the case with Harris’ Silence of the Lambs trilogy, centering on the character of Hannibal Lecter.

Being one who finds the premise of the book and particular the character of Hannibal alluring, I decided to read the book after I had seen the movies.

I discovered, as I has expected to, that the author was far more perspicuous than he came across through the script the movies were based on.

The following snippet I found interesting, though it was not included in the film.

If anyone wants to see a pure propaganda film, Captain America is the film to see.

Things have become so bad that they don't even have to try to make it subtle anymore.

They want the assurance that when things turn to chaos that they can still control the situation with reason and faith, and that finally cooler minds will prevail returning the human world to its comfortable state of numbness and feigned courteousness.

They would rather immerse themselves in the warm waters of fresh feces, preserving those wonderful secret gardens they planted in their imagination, than even think about reality, while they tell themselves that they know and have overcome its effects upon them.

The need is so powerful that most would rather live out a life of desirable lies rather than explore a world of undesirable truths, and so many a marriage endure for decades and many other cooperative unities manage to clod along until the next crisis hits.

If they preach to you the idea of uniformity in simply being human, or just for being alive, for being born, then you should bury in your mind the secret idea of distinction and division between humans and how conflict creates progress and growth as it always has, as it always will; when they tell you that we are all brothers and sisters, you should face this hypocrisy with an understanding that not all other men are of your blood nor can ever be of your particular kind – whether this kind be superior or inferior, strong or weak, intelligent or stupid -, and that they who chant its virtues are either undeserving of their lineage or are promoting the cessation of yours via other means to clear the way for their own.

No doubt the conviction might sometimes be as honest as a weakling trying to pull down strength so that it stops feeling so wronged and dissatisfied with the world.

If I convince you that selfishness is evil and a sin, is not my self placed in a position of advantage?

If I train you to be ashamed of your bloodline, is not mine freed from having to deal with it?

If I teach you that being a man is wrong or primal, and that the concept must be redefined, then do I not leave all females open to my inseminations?

If I educate you that slavery is noble, do I not ensure a lifetime of loyal servitude?

When you teach boys from preschool that being boys is “bad”, you not only increase the graduation rates of girls, who follow the scripture religiously as their nature dictates, but you instill in the boys a sense of embarrassment, of self-hatred, making them explode, at some future date, or condemning them to a lifetime of groveling and trying to prove how “good” and “nice” and “normal” they are.

Once in a while this war acquires some physical battlefields and does cast lines upon the sand, but it is mostly pushed underground where it can be manipulated and denied.

It must be made clandestine by a system that thrives on contrivances and fabricated realities.

Only embedded reporters can tell us about this war and their too busy kissing ass and building careers out of nothing.

The media does not hide information, it does not have to. It disseminates, and the rate it disseminates information by determines which parts become public domain and which are buried in the noise of overabundance and declining attention spans.

The douche-bag reporter does not have to hide anything. He simply recites, and the words he uses, the scripture he parrots, the frequency in which certain information is disseminated, in comparison to other information, establishes a public consciousness.

Look at marketing.

All brands have equal access to the hearts and minds of the consumer public, but which ones are ingrained in our minds so that when we thirst for a cola, for example, there are only two that come to mind first?

Repetition is conditioning.

Pay a radio-jockey to play your song every day and see the popularity grow and your sales increase. Pieces of crap played over and over again, until they feel good because we’ve been habituated to their noise.

They become part of our daily life. Then a few weeks later, a new tune appears…and then another….and another.

Popsicles for little mindless children, all hot and horny, dreaming of a little refreshment. .

And in this war while unification spreads like wildfire, burning everything in its path, there is a surreptitious push to diverge, to separate, to segregate, and to retain the choice only individuation offers.

Build walls, my friends, for without walls you have no choices: everything enters and leaves at will and all you are left with is a mind full of shit.

When they tell you to “tear down your defensive walls” you make sure to build them higher, stronger, thicker: for without walls you have no way of choosing who you will come inside and who you will reject and cast outside.

When they try you to shame you about these walls; when they slander ego and make selfishness a dirty word; when they tell you reality is an illusion, while they strive to gain it all; when they tell you the past is primitive, overcome, passé…you dig deeper into the ground, find your heritage and you begin building high bastions to keep that filth out.

Without it you are doomed.

Let the whores pretentiously give their “love” and loyalty and blood away to whomever, when they covet it all for themselves…you keep yours to yourself.

If none are worthy of them then you keep them closer, and you learn to be alone.

Become comfortable with being alone…for it is the human condition and none but a few can deal with it.

If not, then you shall be exploited, because therein lies your weakness.

All exploitation begins with finding a weak spot.

For the vast majority their dicks and pussies are that spot.

The masses are but the fodder, the collateral damage, the weapons of mass absorption.

When a simpleton, usually a male, wakes up to the lie which is his life, suddenly feeling like everything he was told was supposed to make him happy is not; suddenly feeling that what he bought into as an ideal lifestyle, because everyone else was doing it, did not and could not live-up to its promise…an older itch returns.

The healing of a wound is often accompanied by it.

This time more forcefully, with an accentuating element of impatience: a rash.

Realizing how much he’s invested in his mistake already, scrambling to start over again so as to erase his original error in judgment without losing what pleasant mistakes came of it.

If not then he haunches his shoulders and teaches himself to go through the motions finding small victories in the mundane to forget about his loss.

See him scratching in the night when no eyes can see; see his eyes dart about, looking for something, anything.

Way before my mother’s milk was fully digested, and I became lactose intolerant, I noticed how even the body turns on itself, making the romantic search for completion in another one more of those human activities that does not require much explanation because it does not deserve to be taken seriously.

When not even you can trust yourself or believe much of what you brag about to others, then no other will.

It is at night when there is no other to prove yourself to, to display yourself to, when your mind begins to eat at you.

Dreams are often indications of self-mutilation.

Small bites, at first, nipping at your heals, and then those gnashing jaws of despair when your skin becomes transparent and your heart can be seen beating through your ribcage.
Only the deforming scars can hide you from yourself.

But, there does come a time when even you realize that the crap you’ve been selling to hide those nasty personal thoughts, have convinced all but those that notices the curl of your lip and the skittishness in your eyes when you delivered your self-congratulatory arrangements, knowing all too well that the fact that you dared to do so in public only shows how inapplicable they are.

Is it not better to consume than be consumed?

Terrible thing to be eaten alive; to die while still barely living.

What is more terrible is when the other eats you with your own mouth – slobbering up the blood and mucus with your own tongue, eating you inside out, digesting you with your own stomach.

Cannibalism has many facets, and in these days of newness and endless hope, it has morphed into an energy drain, measured with codes and credits…or with those pretty little amusement park tokens nobody remembers throwing into the jewelry case as if these worthless memories were priceless heirlooms you can later trade for something better.

And there’s always that expected tinge of embarrassment at their rediscovery, when the days had buried that particular one in dry routine.

Thankfully all memories are cleansed of all their dreary evils and these mementos of time gone-by become magical in their representation of “perfection”.
Little rarefied drops of sweetness your mind can suckle on when the bitterness floods the senses.

The act of feeding requires some etiquette, and no gluttonous surges will do.

One must feast with delight, savoring each morsel, playing with it with the tongue, before swallowing.

Why consume the body entirely, gaining a transient swell, when you can keep it alive and feed off of it for a lifetime?

Reciprocity is but a ploy to keep the source stable. Another is by using the bonds of morality and peer pressure to tie it up in a spider’s web of intellectual stickiness.

Find the end of the line and try to untangle it all before you shrivel up with the peptic juices of pop-culture.

Notice how quickly you go to anger when the other shifts position or imbalances the exchange?

Love turns to shit, and hatred is a symptom of your self-realization.
We love the other when he remains still, and available, just as he was the day we became obsessed with his energies.

We always resent having to readjust our comfort zones, and there is no greater need for readjustment than the one offered by seeing our countenance in a reflective surface.

We pat our primate hairs down, and we flatten out the creases in our social suits, all the time angry at the glass that made us look upon ourselves when we least expected it.

Have you ever looked upon yourself in a mirror while you are eating? The experience is singular.

The woman, or the male, in this way of socializing by talking about other individuals within their common group, finds out what is going on in the herd and what place they have within it, socially.
This must be a constant thing, because power shifts occur daily and interactions happen unbeknownst to all but a few.

In the male version things become a bit more abstract.

First off, in this case mostly dead people are talked about, and ideas are mulled over. In this way the males feel-out where they fit in and what is considered cutting-edge and what is though of as debunked; they deduce how the power balances lie.

In all cases the world is all around them, but the human part is all that matters to them.
Particularly when nature has become relatively irrelevant all that remains is petty little dramatics and titillating tails of sex and conflict.
Do not fret, if your social circle is small then the popular mediums will provide you with a wider circle of relationships to giggle over and infinitely ruminate over.

The greats were the ones who, despite the chatter and endless yapping, which they sometimes participated in, chose to look at the world outside human social and cultural conventions; they explored reality directly.

In this sense today this academic philosophical gossiping and all this talk about politics is but a way of positioning one’s self within the pantheon of their insights.
What is called philosophy these days is nothing more than wiggle-waggling and the constant talk about others.

Men, and women, today do not think about the world, they think about the world as it was thought by another, and fight over who got it right.
They jostle for positioning, trying to gain a head-up in reference to the authority which is dominating in their time and in their geographical area.
They are entertained by second-hand accounts concerning intellectual debates and ego conflicts, like little schoolgirls.

Choosing the most popular authority is like choosing the right associations to scramble up the herd hierarchy with.
They call it "networking" or, to make any man snicker, they call it a "career".

You wish for him to witness your disdain for his presence by giving him your worse self possible; you wish for him to experience you on a level he can relate to, or even feel superior to, because only this will make him more amicable towards you. But more than this, you wish to give yourself a way of making him less insufferable, while retaining the possibility for a future encounter.

But when you wish to cavort with your own kind, on a level only but a few can appreciate with honesty and openness, or when you wish to simply enjoy reality alone, drinking in its unpretentious beauty, then sobriety is a must.

Your desire to enjoy the other’s full flavor, filling your mind with its subtle effects, or nature uninvolved with human affairs and free of all those human contrivances that cloud the mind and lead it to lethargy, makes chemical inebriation redundant.

You wish to enjoy it all the more because it is so rare.

Narcissism and schizophrenia are psychological by-products of modern western lifestyles, and of modern social systems in general.

Being kept in a cocooned environment, where all error in judgment is excused and even promoted, the mind begins feeling invulnerable, and reality irrelevant, because it has very little implication in everyday existence.

The individual's activities and choices have very few dire repercussions and so fear is rendered unproductive –a primitive remnant of a past that prevents total assimilation within this all-encompassing environment.

Judgment does not matter, either, for the same reasons, and so intelligence ceases to matter, outside of providing methods of ascending within the cocooned environment's hierarchies. Nobody learns from their mistakes because they don't have to –they are never too grave to matter much.

The only acceptable application of intelligence is to consume and to produce more effectively.

Stupidity is preferred in all other areas.

Thoughts are strictly censored. Most shamed into silence.

They can result in a resistance to integration.

Success can only be achieved through integration and so reason directs the mind to become more obtuse and less resistant.

The environment has now been dominated by manmade artifices and reality is excluded or selectively allowed entry.

It is fenced away; distanced.

This is when the mind becomes self-absorbed, overconfident, fearless, careless, falsely arrogant and disrespectful, convinced that its world is the only world or, at least, as probable a world as any other; it begins gaining an untested sense of self-esteem and a false sense of empowerment, eventually resulting in a total disconnection from reality.

In fact disconnecting from the world is its ideal state - its progress towards enlightenment.

The mind has now been encased in its own conceptions, placed in a safe-box, and given that it is sheltered against anything that might correct its delusions, it becomes lost in itself: arrogant and demanding...increasingly self-absorbed and self-referential.

Its maturity is retarded as it does not have to mature at all.

We see the effects of this in domestication.

This is a self-love based on delusion and an absence of self-consciousness or the humbling effects of reality.

Narcissism in its many forms is the outcome.

The individual begins living in his own world, or one given to him, and since it is a pleasant world, full of more positive to it messages and flattering contexts, it abandons itself to the pleasured of uncontrolled hedonism.

Hedonism becomes his ideal...his only way of measuring value and of evaluating quality.

He will defend the other's right to exist in his or her own little world, if it does not disturb his own.

The mind is now conveniently convinced that reality is a matter of personal taste or a human construct that can be altered with mere thoughts and casual gestures, or with further detachments.

When the real world disturbs your plans, dive deeper into fantasy, lose yourself in pleasure –pleasure is the only reward. It indicates social success.

He is able to do so because there is a system in place–a system that benefits from this complacent detachment–a system which protects him from his own stupidity and naiveté and delusion.

A system which is not entirely successful and one which often cannot shelter the individual from reality altogether, as it is itself a human construct.

The box is porous and the institutional walls never high enough to keep the sun and the dust out.

So, the individual is often corrected or offered an uncomfortable and disconcerting dose of reality it did not expect.

It shocks him.

This correction may have traumatic effects, as the mind is often shattered by a world that cares not for its self-referencing beliefs or what it thinks it deserves, but more so because the individual has grown soft, not being accustomed to anything outside its little mental box.

No amount of sheltering can fully protect the individual from a world that is indifferent to its hopes and assessments.

The first response to this sudden contact with a cold and harsh world, one he had no idea existed, contained as the individual is within institutional walls and social artifices, is that of fear.

Fear coupled with the comfort he has become accustomed to makes the individual a vehement defender of the system that provides him with that luxury; with that little proverbial box.

Fear that then might lead to a desire to destroy–nihilism–the source of his discomfort, which is the world itself and nature herself, or that might lead to a desire to change the world–idealism–so as to accommodate his preferences as these have been shaped, ironically, by nature or, worse, by the system that protects him, by the artifices he is contained within.

His ideals become as detached from reality as he is; they turn fantastic, unrealistic, infantile.

Self-hatred underlies the process. Hating one's past is essentially a hatred of everything that determined the present; dissatisfaction with the world is a dissatisfaction with everything that preceded it and that made it possible.

Dissatisfaction with the world is really dissatisfaction with existence; alienation from the world is an alienation from existence.

The mind, now, dives deeper still; deeper into itself or into the systemic contexts it has been given to escape the world that cares not for its comforts and interests.

At no point does this mind considered re-evaluating its own positions, premises and judgments, in other words changing itself in relation to the world.

At no point does he dare question the contexts he has grown accustomed to or the authorities that provided them to him.

He cannot endure confronting the world outside his safety-net.

He is completely absorbed; he sees himself in every surface placed before him.

He admires his "brilliance" in the very walls that surround him. He loses himself in his own gaze. His horizons are contained within his skull because there the artifices become plausible –they become perfect–because in there he can be trained and left to wallow in his own imagery.

He is in love with the image his artificial environment has constructed for him.

He does not know how to begin even if he so dared to break free, having been sheltered for so long; and what small doses he has experienced and managed to endure have taught him that such an engagement might shock him to death.

He does not think his self-image outside the reflections on these mirrored walls will satisfy him and so he does not dare to look.

He has invested too much time and effort in placing himself within the contexts he accepted early on, and his identification has been shaped for so long that anything that confronts its premises would seem like a loss of self.

He feels he might go mad if he were to even entertain the possibility.

He might be right.

In fact he does go partially mad, as narcissism and schizophrenia are symptoms of insanity, but are lost within the sea of conformity and taken as a natural product of modern stress or adolescent rebelliousness.

His teen years are the time when he puts on the clothes chosen for him and reluctantly, often with spite, stepped into the box.

It is when the schism commenced.

It is not he, but the world that must be changed to accommodate his already established hopes and interests and beliefs...his interests as these have been decided.

This sets up a relationship of animosity between the individual man and the world outside his social and cultural paradigm, in other words a world outside his fantasies or what constructs he was given to believe promised him the best and most fulfilling rewards.

Even his imagination is directed by the imagery provided for him. He cannot escape not even with his mind what contains him. His fantasies reflect the symbols, through the veneer of artistic expression and popular culture, he is immersed within.

Now the mind finds no relation with reality, little, if any, point of contact; it feels alienated, disinterested, frightened and confused, when faced with anything outside its own conceptions, or the shared ones it has adopted as its own.

At this time and if these conceptions are replaced by some other foreign influence, some alternative political/philosophical/spiritual scenario, then he, this hypothetical man, may find identification with an ideal outside his willful control.

He will relish the sensation of giving up a will he now considers feeble, for the promise of a bigger, stronger Will.

This is the feminine road to power; power through association.

“She” gives herself to power, to that masculine entity, fully and completely. She finds pleasure in her surrendering; she finds identification, a sense of completion, in the union.

He now surrenders to whatever more current human artifice is offered as an alternative – one promising to change the world for him – including the social and cultural milieu he has become disenfranchised with because it has failed to protect him from a reality outside its premises.

From the starting point of narcissism, based on an untested flattering sheltered evaluation of self, the mind may then project itself outward and it may fall in love with a greater Self, breaking the separation of self from other, as it has been established though a continuum of experiences held together by memory.

As was noted, memory must be selectively discarded, for much of it stands in the way of being totally immersed within a new paradigm, a new, more modern or an old more wise identification.

The past is a burden, a resisting element that must be reinterpreted; if it cannot be it must be erased, forgotten, denied.

Race, sex anything associated with inheritance with the past, with genetics, is to be dismissed or softened with semantics.

The individual does so, often willingly, to escape the world into a stronger cocoon.

He seeks escape in communion with otherness, and the unburdening of his primal fears and risks and costs, by submitting to a shared construct; a new one....a progressive rebirth of hope and expectation or a rediscovery of ancient roads towards a better state of being.

The promise is seductive.

He sacrifices independence for the sake of comfort and comforting. He forgets the past that burden him with their immutable determinations.

He is reborn a clean slate...a new man...a modern man...or a modern being, for even the idea of manhood is to be taken off.

This modern man is a man with no past. He enters existence unburdened by anything preceding his birth.

He saves himelf from the worse consequences of self-realization and rushes to find cover in ideas and ideals and identifications and definitions that offer him a renewed pride, via his association with a new, hypothetically more powerful, more current, perhaps, entity.

The denial of the past, his nature and essence, is his sacrifice, proving his faith to the new Self.

Did not God test Abraham for the same reason?

Do not nations ask for self-sacrifice, as evidence of commitment to this greater Self?

He is no longer a he, a man, a self, an ego; his penis is but an appendage he has no identification with. He is totally outside himself, his flesh is an illusion; his hands, feet, and face is not part of what he is. He is other than himself.

A mere tool for pleasure. He uses it, supposedly, with detachment, like he would his hand. Its loss would amount to nothing.

He is more, because he is Self. The others compensate for his failings. The others pick up the slack and complete his incompleteness.

But he is still not content, because he has now alienated himself from his own self – his very sense of self, his selfishness, his ego, has been slandered into hiding.

He denies their presence to others, to show them how well he's adopted his new shared identity...cults do this as a way of overcoming resistance.

He is now fragmented and confused; of two minds. He has no past; he has to heritage; he is sexless, egoless, selfless; he has lost his sense of continuity which he had called self and which connected him with the world.

His self-consciousness and the identification which now has been redirected leads him to a sense of detachment form his own actions and choices and then from his own thoughts.

He feels like two people occupying the same form. The mind/body dichotomy might serve to alleviate the distress but if the detachment persists the mind will shatter: being convinced that a voice is speaking to it, whether it is the voice of God, the manifestation of this greater Self, or the Devil or his spirit, in the Christian sense of the word, or ghosts or aliens or whatever.

Consciousness, his own, is now placed somewhere outside his skull...he has no contact with it except through some mystical realm only his faith can attach him to.

Everything is ethereal....magical....mysterious....immaterial. The supernatural replaces the natural; his experiences become secondary, mere illusions; his life is not his own, his thoughts come from outside himself, his identity is an external construct....all is fake...a dream he must awaken from to rediscover the more real reality, the world outside the world, life after death, existence outside existing. Thinking, judging stand in the way and must be suppressed – meditation is prescribed, or some other form of inebriation and self-hypnosis.

The mind must be detached from the sensual...it must lose itself in drunken Dionysian ecstasy....the irrational turns rational, the unreal becomes real.

Apollo gives way to Dionysus.

In its stupor the mind sees visions, hears sounds, receives guidance.

Its defenses must be lowered – the skin being a defensive membrane, same as the skull is – to allow this enlightenment, this loss of self, to take over. All resistance must be thwarted, embarrassed, called diseased. He despises his very flesh and bones; they are both inadequate, imperfect and deceiving. Nothing material is as it appears to be.

Fear itself, a quintessential natural defensive measure, is now an illness that can be cured.....must be cured, in order to experience this loss which is called a gain.

His internal dialogue becomes one of otherness towards self, as the undesirable elements are projected as separate from himself and they take on an independent reality of their own.

They come from "out there" from some ambiguous beyond....the same place in which gods reside.

The greater Self that has seduced him is now at odds with his subdued self, his organic genetic self, usually associated with his nature or instincts or essence – essence being the character produced by sum of his past, akin to nature.

This is a classic case of a memetic unity dominating a genetic one; an idea infecting biology.

He is no longer himself, in the complete sense of the word; absolved of all responsibilities, except in regards to his service and his loyalty to his new Self – which can take on the form of a nation, a state, a church, an institution, a god, materialism, a political ideal or any abstraction for that matter – and he is also saved from any accountability in reference to his actions before he was "discovered" "found" or was "awakened" or was "reborn" into the new identity within this new Self.

If he is no longer himself then what is he, whom is he?

Self is an illusion, he is told.

The defenses are now crumbling and the external Will, proposing this alternative Self, enters to offer a transplant. He latches onto it like a hungry man who has been deprived of nourishment.

He thanks the very concept that deprived him, like a slave or a dog thanks his master who gives him food after he has taken it away.

He is now more...no longer alone. Existential solitude is negated in the myth of intimate communion.

If he gives in to his smaller self, the parts he sacrificed to be included within the greater Self, he must make amends....feel guilty and shamed; offer tokens of his renewed vows of loyalty to the abstraction that absorbed him and that tolerates his momentary lapses and his contradictions.

He is, in fact, free from his past and all that this has determined about him.

His unconsciousness is what he calls “freedom”. He is liberated, or so he thinks, from the costs of existence, now free to dedicate himself entirely to the enjoyment of living without the price for it. He is entirely materialistic, hedonistic; pleasure for pleasure’s sake, with no substance and no goal. Nature, being the sum of all previous nurturing, is now discarded, like unwanted luggage, and the mind soars within the possibilities of its new persona within this protective new Self.

The sensation is exhilarating, freeing but it sets the mind up for a fall.

He is stripped of everything expect the parts necessary to be useful and servile to the one(s) making this possible.
